We are the Malta Film Foundation, dedicated to promoting film literacy and discovering and showcasing the best film-making talent in Malta.

 

Since its inception, we had produced the Malta Short Film Festival in collaboration with PBS Ltd. 

 

In 2015, we were the only local film festival to be given the European award, EFFE Label for Festivals and it was once again awarded this quality label in 2017 and 2019.

 

We also collaborate overseas with many institutes and festivals.

 

The Foundation has successfully been chosen as a beneficiary of the Cultural Partnership Agreement fund. The Foundation has also benefited from public funds including the Malta Arts Fund, Local Cultural Initiative Fund, the Malta Film Commission and Good Causes Fund. 

 

In 2018 we held the first edition of the Malta Youth Film Festival. We also organize Malta Film Weekend to encourage new talent and showcase creativity with workshops.
